A surprise and without any special announcements, Dell has updated its Alienware M15x gamestation, for hardcore gamers, offering them a new option, Nvidia GeForce GTX 460m.
Interest users can now configure their Alienware M15x notebook with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 460m dedicated graphics card, with 1GB of dedicated memory. The integration of this new component, however, is quite expensive, as compared with the original version in 1199 euro (equipped with a GPU Nvidia GeForce 240M) will need to spend 255 euro more to add a GeForce GTX 460m, � 30 for a wild Mobility Radeon HD5730 and 80 Euros for the Mobility Radeon HD5850.
Alienware m15x is based on Intel Calpella with Ibex Peak Intel PM55 Chipset and (up to) Intel Core i7 processor, up to 8 GB DDR3 1066/1333MHz up two slots and hard disk or SSD SATA drive. The graphics card runs a 15.6-inch LED WXGA resolution of 1600 � 900 or WUXGA Full HD 1920 � 1080, and a webcam 2.0 megapixel with microphone. The equipment is completed by a Blu-Ray or a DVD burner, a 8in1 card reader, 5.1 audio system, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DisplayPort, VGA, Firewire 400, ExpressCard54, infrared, audio jack (x2), Gigabit Ethernet and 3 USB 2.0 ports, at one eSATA.
