Toshiba has just announced the availability of its enterprise SSD and HDD. They are 2.5-inch Toshiba MKx001GRZB solid state drives, and 3.5-inch Toshiba MKx001TRKB and Toshiba MKx002TSKB hard drives. All of them are designed for servers, workstations, storage systems, etc.
The Toshiba SSD, according to source, it is three times faster than enterprise-class hard drive, which provides read and write speeds of up to 230MB/s and up to 510MB/s. The Toshiba MKx001GRZB has random sustained 90,000 read IOPS and 17,000 write IOPS. New Toshiba MKx001GRZB SSD is available in 100GB, 200GB and 400GB of storage capacities.
Toshiba MKx001GRZB solid state drives are uses SAS 6.0 Gbps interface and 32nm SLC (single-level cell) NAND Flash memory chips. It should start sampling in Q1 2011 and mass production in 1H 2011.
The Toshiba HDD, Toshiba MKx001TRKB and MKx002TSKB HDD are come in each 1TB and 2TB capacity. The Toshiba MKx001TRKB HDD is uses SAS 6.0 Gbps interface, while the Toshiba MKx002TSKB HDD is SATA 3.0 Gbps interface. Both HDDs are equipped with Rotational Vibration (RV) compensation technology, a sound output of 30 dBA, 16MB/64MB of buffer memory, and a working speed of 7200 RPM. The four Toshiba hard drives would be start shipping in Q1 2011.
