Foxit is now accepting pre-orders for eSlick - a hand-held e-book reader. The device costs about half a price of similar gadgets from Amazon or Sony.
The e-paper display screen is a low-power matrix, with the maximum resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and 4 shades of grey. eSlick is only 1cm thick and weights 180g. A document editing tool and an MP3 music player are included in the software, along with a tool that can zoom the document up to 400%. The built-in memory is 128MB but you can also store documents and music on an SD card. The device has a USB connection and is controlled by Linux operating system.
