LG Display Unveils �Solar Cell e-Book� - a new e-book reader which features a solar cell. After about 4 to 5 hours in the sun, the solar cell will give the e-book enough power to work for another day.
The solar cell measures 0.7 millimeter in thickness and weighs a mere 20 grams. Contrary to widely adopted crystalline solar cells that employ silicon wafers, the thin-film solar cell with TFT-LCD technology is generally light-weight and easily adjustable in size and form for applications such as e-books produced by LG Displays.
